JumpNotes is a browser extension that allows users to create time-stamped notes while watching YouTube videos. This privacy policy explains what information the extension processes and how it is handled.

2. Data Stored by the Extension

All data created by JumpNotes is stored locally in your browser using the browser’s extension storage API. No data is transmitted to external servers.

The extension stores only the following information:

• Notes you create (“jumps”), including text and video timestamp
• The YouTube video ID and title associated with each note
• Local settings (extension active/inactive state, dialog preferences, etc.)
• Internal local identifiers used for managing notes and settings

3. What JumpNotes Does NOT Collect

• No personal data
• No account information
• No browsing history beyond the active YouTube tab
• No analytics or tracking data
• No data transmissions to the developer or third parties

All processing happens entirely within your browser. JumpNotes has no server component.

4. Required Permissions

storage — Used to save notes and extension settings locally on your device.

activeTab — Used to interact with the currently active YouTube tab in order to read the video ID, timestamp, and display the note interface.

Host permission: *://www.youtube.com/*
Required so the extension can run its content script on YouTube pages, inject the note interface, and attach notes to the correct video.

5. Data Deletion and User Control

You can delete your notes at any time using the delete options within the extension. Removing the extension from your browser also removes all data stored by JumpNotes.

6. Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated to reflect changes in functionality or legal requirements. Updates will be published on this page.
